Powers & Jurisdiction

The High Court of Civil Appeal - Tangalle reviews appeals, revisions, and applications against final judgments, decrees, and interim orders delivered by District Courts and Family Courts within its designated judicial zone. Any further appeal must be directed directly to the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka, subject to obtaining special leave.

Civil Appellate Jurisdiction

Appellate jurisdiction over final judgments, decrees, and orders from subordinate District Courts in Hambantota District, including Tangalle, Angunukolapelessa, and Walasmulla.

Revisionary Jurisdiction

Revisionary jurisdiction over interlocutory proceedings and orders of District Courts and Family Courts to review and correct procedural or legal errors.
